Elvis showdown
"The Match of the Decade — Kenn 'E' Grube and Bill Lindsey Present Elvis" will be at 7 p.m. Saturday at VFW Post 10209, 14736 Edward R. Noll Drive, Spring Hill. This is a battle between two Elvis impersonators. Food and beverages will be available. A portion of proceeds will go to Gifts from Home to benefit troops serving overseas. Tickets are $10. Coat of many colors: The Andrew Lloyd Webber/Tim Rice musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat will be presented at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and at 2 p.m. Sundays through Sept. 26 at Stage West Community Playhouse, 8390 Forest Oaks Blvd., Spring Hill. Curtain call
Anne of Avonlea: Live Oak Theater Company will hold auditions for its original production of Anne of Avonlea, The Musical at 1 p.m. Saturday at Faith Presbyterian Church, 200 Mount Fair Ave., Brooksville, and at 1 p.m. Sept. 18 at Crosspoint Church, 13470 Chambord St., west of Brooksville. The musical is based on Anne of Green Gables. Men, women and children ages 8 and older are needed. Adults should prepare 16 bars of a song of their choice, and may be asked to read cold from the script. Children must be prepared to sing 16 bars of a song of their choice and will be permitted to recite a monologue (less than 2 minutes), if they wish. Children may be asked to do improvisations and line expressions. Productions are scheduled for mid November.
