SAFETY HARBOR — A Safety Harbor man crashed into a parked car and pushed the stationary vehicle into an elderly woman's mobile home Monday morning, authorities said.
Michael Tabery was impaired, but alcohol was not a factor when he crashed his grandfather's 1999 Toyota Camry into 84-year-old Bernice Barton's 1993 Buick Century, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office says.
Authorities drew Tabery's blood to test for narcotics use.
The Buick was parked under the carport of her mobile home at the time of the 11:15 a.m. accident. The impact pushed the car into Barton's Clubview Drive home, creased the siding and caused other exterior damage.
Barton was not at home. Tabery, 25, was being treated at Mease Countryside Hospital for nonlife-threatening injuries.
Charges are pending, the Sheriff's Office said.
