Gulfside Regional Hospice will hold its Hike for Hospice event this November, but registration will take place throughout this week. The 3.1-mile walk will be at Wesley Chapel District Park and will include a guest appearance by former Tampa Bay Buccaneer Mike Alstott, who will sign autographs and kick off the event.

"It's a great way to memorialize the people that hospice care has helped," Gulfside Regional Hospice president and chief executive officer Linda Ward said. "We had 800 hikers a year ago and raised $70,000 for the hospice. This year, we've raised our expectations to 1,000 hikers and $100,000 worth of funds raised."

Registration will take place on the following dates at these locations: today at Lutz Thrift Shoppe, 21780 State Road 54; Thursday at Zephyrhills Thrift Shoppe, 36504 State Road 54; and Friday at New Port Richey Thrift Shoppe, 3601 Universal Plaza. Representatives from Hike for Hospice will be available between 2 and 4 p.m. to answer questions.

The cost is $25 for adults, $15 for students age 11 and older, and $5 for children age 10 and younger. To register, visit www.firstgiving.com/Hikeforhospice or call 1-800-561-4883.
