Crash on U.S. 41 leaves one dead, three injured
An elderly woman was killed and three people were injured Monday when two vehicles collided on U.S. 41. A northbound Jeep Cherokee smashed into a southbound Toyota Camry that was turning left onto County Line Road, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Troopers said a passenger in the Toyota, Violeta Reyes, 80, of Land O'Lakes died. She was wearing her seat belt. Her husband, Antonio Reyes, 87, was driving the Toyota. He was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital in serious condition. Susan Marie Wicklund, 48, of New Port Richey was driving the Jeep and was seriously injured after she was thrown from the vehicle. Passenger Melissa Jeanne Cothard, 26, of Holiday was also seriously injured. The FHP is investigating to determine whether any citations will be issued.

Safety tips for kids with hearing loss
The Sertoma Speech & Hearing Foundation and Deaf & Hard of Hearing Services of Florida will offer a free presentation from 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday on water safety for kids with hearing loss. The event will be at the New Port Richey Recreation and Aquatic Center, 6640 Van Buren St. The format is geared toward youth who are deaf or hard of hearing, and this event will be interpreted. Vendors sought for bazaar, crafts fair
Members of the Jewish Community Center of West Pasco are seeking vendors for an indoor holiday fashion bazaar and crafts fair to be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 21 at the center, 9841 Scenic Drive. They seek new items only, including clothing and accessories, linens, jewelry, cell phone accessories, crafts and holiday items. Two chairs and a 36-inch by 96-inch table are $25.
