Books To The Ceiling moving after 22 years
While shops around it have steadily gone in and out of business, Books To The Ceiling has held its own for 22 years. But now that a dollar store is leasing all of Carter Plaza at 15126 Municipal Drive in Madeira Beach, the used book store is moving about 10 miles down the beach to Dolphin Village. "We really are sad. We had no idea something like this was coming," said Judy Fish, the store's founder and owner. "We thought, 'Do we want to close our doors or do we want to move?' '' The thought of moving 60,000 books is daunting, even though a new shopping center anchored by a Publix will have better customer traffic than her current location. Fish expects to be in the Dolphin Village location by the end of October.
