Library will facilitate genealogy discussion

Free public forum on elder abuse and crime

Society is planning Oktoberfest activities

The German American Society is hosting Oktoberfest Friday and Saturday, Oct. 1-2 and Oct. 8-9 beginning at 5 p.m. The big tent will be set up on 66th Street N. Fall festival to be held at Tyrone Square Mall

Tyrone Square Mall, 6901 Tyrone Square, is hosting a Fall Festival from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday. Glasstoberfest at the Morean Arts Center

The Morean Arts Center Glass Studio and Hot Shop, 719 Central Ave., is hosting Glasstoberfest from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday. A beer tasting will be provided. All Breed Cat Show is Saturday, Sunday

The Skyway Cat Club and the International Cat Association are hosting an All Breed Cat Show 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Minnreg Hall, 6430 126th Ave. N. Tampa Bay Cat Alliance and Friends of Strays will have rescue cats attending and participating in the show. HALO, EMS for animals, will offer CPR demonstrations Saturday. Admission is $6 for adults, $3 for children, free for ages 5 and under. Bring can or bag of cat food and get $1 off admission. Call (727) 867-7328.

Trophies, prizes to be awarded at car show

Retired K9 Heroes Inc. is sponsoring an open car show from 4 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday at the Moulin Rouge Restaurant and Lounge parking lot, 10525 U.S. 19 N. All years, makes and models are invited. Trophies will be awarded for all classes plus door prizes. $20 preregistration and $25 the day of show. The chef at the restaurant will be preparing a french buffet for $15.
