Benefit set for kidney transplant candidate

A fundraiser has been scheduled for Brooksville resident Bob Potter, who needs a kidney transplant.

Those who dine at CiCi's Pizza, 12109 Cortez Blvd., from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday can have 10 percent of net sales donated to the National Transplant Assistance Fund's Southeast Kidney Transplant Fund in Potter's name.

The buffet dinner is $4 for adults and $2.99 for children 10 and younger, and includes unlimited pizza, pasta, salad and dessert.

Those who do not have a flier for the fundraiser must mention to the cashier before the order is placed that the bill should benefit the Bob Potter Kidney Fund.

Potter is fighting end-stage renal failure and has been on dialysis three times a week. Although Potter receives VA benefits and is on Medicare, the costs of the first month after a transplant will not be covered. Funds must be raised to cover those costs before he can receive the transplant.

Credit card contributions may be made online at NTAFund.org (enter Bob Potter in the "Find a Patient" box), or by calling toll-free 1-800-642-8399.
