TAMPA — A Tampa man is accused of raping a woman after offering her a ride when she became stranded in Ybor City, police said.
Christopher Lamar Brown, 25, faces three charges of sexual battery and one of kidnapping in connection with the July 17 incident.
Here is what police say happened:
The 23-year-old victim and her boyfriend were visiting from out of town and went to the clubs in Ybor City. The pair got in a fight and left in opposite directions.
Brown, who was also at a club, offered the victim a ride.
She got into his vehicle and Brown drove to an unknown location, where he began slapping her in the face and head and ordered her to take her clothes off. He sexually battered her in three separate incidents, eventually leaving her in the 9600 block of 11th Street N.
Police said they identified Brown through DNA analysis. He was arrested Tuesday afternoon and was being held at the Hillsborough County jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.
