Free foot and ankle screening
David Fine, DPM, a specialist in podiatric medicine and surgery, will conduct a free foot and ankle screening and provide information on foot health 3 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at Helen Ellis Memorial Hospital, 1395 S Pinellas Ave., Tarpon Springs.

8 new graduates will begin USF residency
Providing needed health care to the local community while training new physicians, the Morton Plant Mease/University of South Florida Family Medicine Residency Program welcomes eight recent medical school graduates who will begin their postgraduate training.
The resident physicians in the three-year program practice under the supervision of faculty physicians at the Turley Family Health Center and Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater.
This year's residents come from around the country and include Andrew Albano, D.O., New York College of Osteopathic Medicine; Michael Allison, M.D., Creighton University; Brandon Armstrong, M.D., Marshall University; Camille Hippolyte, M.D., Florida State University; Christopher Hritz, M.D., Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine & Pharmacy; Lena Irvine, M.D., University of South Florida; Karl Metzger, M.D., University of Kansas; and Kay Schmid, M.D., University of Miami.
Also starting in July will be the second class of USF-Morton Plant Mease Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship physicians, Chris Salud, M.D., and Gary Visser, M.D.

Helen Ellis Memorial Hospital offers a free service to assist people in finding a physician for their personal and family medical needs. The telephone-based service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week by calling (727) 943-3600.
An adviser will answer each call with information on a variety of medical and surgical specialties according to the stated needs and preferences of the caller, and will give up to three possible physician referrals per request.
