Old Snack Shack grand opening is Saturday

The Old Snack Shack, 15102 Gulf Blvd., Madeira Beach, will host a grand opening from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday after being closed for 13 years. City commissioners and the group that helped save the Snack Shack from demolition will attend. Ice cream, beer and hot dogs will be sold, and there will be live music from noon to 3 p.m. For information, contact Amanda Trail at amandatrail@gmail.com.

Folkfest St. Pete is this weekend

The fourth annual Folkfest St. Pete 2010 will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday on Central Avenue in downtown St. Petersburg between 11th and 13th streets. An assortment of regional and local music acts and visual artists will participate. For information, call (727) 825-0515.

You get a line, and I'll get a pole

The Kiwanis Club of Seminole Breakfast will host a Family Fun Fishing Day from 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Taylor Park, 1100 Eighth Ave. SW, Largo. Prizes are awarded for First Catch; Most Fish; Smallest Fish; and First, Second and Third Largest Fish. Admission is free. Fishing poles and bait will be provided for children up to age 14.
