Today

Toddler Time/Storytime Preschool Programs: Toddler Time for children 18 to 35 months starts at 10 a.m., followed by Storytime for children ages 3 to 5 at 11 a.m., Spring Hill Branch/Harold G. Friday

30th annual Spooks 'N Scoots: Noon today through 5 p.m. Sunday, Sertoma Youth Ranch, 85 Myers Road, Spring Lake. The event includes vendors, games, live bands, raffles, children's activities, food, drinks and a beauty contest. All motorcycles welcome. The Christian Motorcycle Riders will offer free boot shines and coffee during daylight hours today and Saturday and will give a bike blessing and devotional on Sunday before a memorial run leaving at 10 a.m. Sponsored by the Hillsborough County Chapter of ABATE of Florida. Weekend tickets (Friday to Sunday) are $25 for ABATE members, $30 for others. Tickets for Saturday only are $15 for ABATE members, $20 for others. Spring Hill Garden Club Plant Sale: 9 a.m.-2 p.m., plant nursery, 1489 Parker Ave., Spring Hill. The sale includes geraniums, angel wing begonias and cold weather hardy perennials, plus vendors with herbs, natural beauty products and organic jams; also tours of the adjacent Nature Coast Botanical Gardens with 20 themed gardens (free, but donations appreciated). Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk — Weeki Wachee: Pre-walk activities start at 8 a.m., with the walk starting at 9, Weeki Wachee Springs State Park, 6131 Commercial Way, Weeki Wachee. An Evening of Storytelling with Jerry Cowling: 7-9 p.m., Hill House Bed and Breakfast, 406 E Liberty St., Brooksville. Local author and storyteller Jerry Cowling will share tales of haunted Hernando County, including haunted houses on Liberty Street, Fort Dade Avenue and the Heritage Museum in Brooksville. Chinsegut Reptile and Amphibian Festival: 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m., Chinsegut Nature Center, 23212 Lake Lindsey Road, north of Brooksville. Visitors will learn about Florida's venomous snakes, gopher tortoises, frogs, toads and alligators, as well as some of Florida's recent invaders. Some of the programs and activities include a reptile and amphibian walk, gopher tortoise hike, Frog Jeopardy, a puppet show, a frog-calling contest and an alligator program. Exhibitors include the Gopher Tortoise Council, the Hernando County Native Plant Society, the Hernando Audubon Society and the Alligator Management Program. Free admission. (352) 754-6722.

Christian Life Assembly of God's 20th Anniversary Celebration and Concert: Christian Life Assembly of God Church, 13065 Jacqueline Road, Spring Hill. Envy Pageant Productions presents Miss Hernando Beach Latina and Miss Teen Hernando Beach Latina-World Pageant: Lunch at noon, pageant at 1 p.m., R Beach, 4054 Shoal Line Blvd., Hernando Beach. Divisions include Little Miss, Jr. Miss, Teen and Miss. This is an official preliminary to the Little Miss and Jr. Miss Florida pageants and Miss Teen Florida-World and Miss Florida U.S. International pageants. Foster Parent Association of Hernando County's Fall Dinner-Dance: 6 p.m., VFW Post 10209, 14736 Edward R. Noll Drive, Spring Hill. The event will include a dinner buffet, live band and DJ, prizes and raffle baskets. Candy bags will be given to the children. Music will be provided by Lee Morrison's Able Sacrifice and DJ Dwayne. Hernando County Philippine-American Association's Fifth Year Anniversary Ball: 6-11 p.m., Palace Grand, 275 Della Court, Spring Hill. Monster Auto Show and Children's Charity Event: 10 a.m.-9 p.m., Hernando County Fairgrounds, 6436 Broad St,, Brooksville. Featuring the Monster Transmission and Performance Car, a Truck and Bike Show, an all-day truck pull, a truck tug-of-war, live music, vendors, a petting zoo, face painting, games and other children's activities. A fireworks display will start at dusk, about 7:30 p.m. The Speed Channel's Two Guys Garage show will film.
