BRANDON — Detectives arrested a man Wednesday afternoon when he delivered 30 pounds of marijuana to a sting operation, according to the Hillsboroough County Sheriff' Office.
Scott Ira Kaplan, 51, of 4643 John Moore Road, negotiated with undercover deputies to sell them the drugs valued at $42,000, detectives said. The sheriff's Major Violators Unit had been investigating him for a month.
Kaplan arrived at 204 W Brandon Blvd. at 1:15 p.m. with the marijuana. He made the sale and was arrested, deputies said.
Deputies took Kaplan to the Hillsborough County Jail. No bail had been set. He was charged with trafficking in cannabis 25 to 2,000 pounds, a first degree felony.
