HUDSON — A toddler who was found in a swimming pool earlier this week has died, according to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.
Authorities say Geovani Carrillo slipped out a doggy door Tuesday evening into the back yard of the home at 7013 Country Club Drive in Country Club Estates. Family members found him floating face-down in the pool, the report said.
The boy, who had his first birthday Sunday and had just learned to walk, was taken to All Children's Hospital. He was pronounced dead at 5:46 a.m. Wednesday, said Kevin Doll, spokesman for the Sheriff's Office.
The Sheriff's Office has classified the incident as an accident.
