Two people were rescued from the water after a 20-foot boat crashed into a piling south of the Clearwater Memorial Causeway bridge late Friday night, officials said.
The accident occurred about 600 yards south of the bridge at about 10:45 p.m., and the overboard boaters were rescued shortly after 11 p.m. by a Clearwater Fire and Rescue marine unit, emergency officials said. The rescued boaters were not seriously injured, and four other people on the boat were not injured.
