TAMPA— Gov. Charlie Crist made rounds Sunday in Tampa, reaching out to the Hispanic community in hopes of gaining votes in his U.S. Senate campaign.
He hosted a spaghetti lunch honoring the girls of the West Tampa Little League junior softball team, which had competed in the Junior League Softball World Series.
The event was held at the Tampa Letter Carriers Hall, the venue where Crist's Democratic opponent, Kendrick Meek, held a rally with former Vice President Al Gore last week.
Also last week, Republican opponent Marco Rubio aired a new Spanish-language television ad in which he speaks about the sacrifices of his Cuban parents and the American dream.
After lunch, Crist made a stop at the Tampa Convention Center, where Telemundo and other sponsors hosted an annual family festival.
