8 Today

Graphicstudio benefit: A benefit event offering local art at special prices, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at University of South Florida Graphicstudio/Institute for Research in Art, 3702 Spectrum Blvd. Free. Call (813) 974-3503.

GWAR: Elaborate stage costumes, thrash metal, parodies of political figures and celebrities and being sprayed with various fluids (mostly food coloring and water) sums up a GWAR show. Stone Temple Pilots: The alternative rock band from the '90s has been through the wringer and back again, and with a new album out in May. John Lennon tribute: WMNF presents "Gimme Some Truth: The John Lennon 70th Birthday Party and Tribute," with 27 bands performing songs from Lennon's catalog, at noon at Skipper's Smokehouse, 910 Skipper Road.
