Melvin is a 1-year-old domestic shorthair tabby. He is social and is usually the first cat to greet people as they walk through the door. Melvin loves attention and gets along great with other cats. He is current on vaccines and has been microchipped and neutered. Inquiries about adopting Melvin and other cats or dogs can be made at the Humane Society of the Nature Coast shelter at Wiscon and Mobley roads, Brooksville. The shelter is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays. The shelter is run strictly on donations; no government subsidies are provided.
