The Greater Hernando County Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Committee will host its 2010 General Candidates Forum on Thursday in the County Commission chambers at the Hernando County Government Center, 20 N Main St., Brooksville.

Green World Path, 1665 Donto Way, Brooksville, will offer a free educational program on turf, hay and pasture successes at 6 p.m. Thursday. The speakers will be Ray Nielsen, J.B. Williams and Dori Bon.

Nielsen, president of Green World Path, will speak on new research testing being done on mineralization in turf, hay, pastures, lawns and gardens. Williams will speak about controlling soil-borne insects in turf, lawn and pastures. Bon will speak about Green World Path's Green Day Extravaganza plans.

The event is hosted by Hernando Today in conjunction with the Greater Hernando County Chamber of Commerce, Career Central and the Hernando County Office of Business Development and is designed to provide an opportunity for businesses to highlight available professional, industrial and service-sector positions.

The Greater Hernando County Chamber of Commerce will offer a workshop, "Your Personal Listening Skills," from 8 a.m. to noon Oct. 26 and Nov. 2 at 15588 Aviation Loop Drive in the chamber's training room, south of Brooksville.

The workshop will be conducted by Lori Bainum. A certificate of completion will be awarded. The cost is $99 for chamber members and $199 for nonmembers. To register or for information, call (727) 480-1566. The deadline to register is Tuesday.
