A driver was killed early Tuesday after colliding with a deer, hitting a fence and striking a tree, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
BROOKSVILLE — A 48-year-old man died in a single-vehicle wreck Tuesday morning on Culbreath Road, south of Brooksville, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Authorities said James H. Waddy of Brooksville was headed south on Culbreath, just north of the Hernando-Pasco county line, at about 7:10 a.m. when his four-door 1995 Toyota struck a deer in the middle of the road. After Waddy's vehicle hit the deer, the car left the road and struck a fence and a large tree.
Waddy was pronounced dead at the scene. According to the FHP, he was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the wreck.
The FHP said it was still investigating the crash.
