Bob and Doris Baker
Bob and Doris Baker of Dunedin celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a family dinner at Bon Appetit in Dunedin.
The Bakers married Oct. 8, 1950, at Belmont Methodist Church, Clearwater.
He is a Clearwater native and she came to Largo in 1948 from Pittsburgh.
The couple spent their first 21 years of marriage in the Air Force. After Mr. Baker's retirement from the military in 1971, he worked another 22 years as a vice president and trust officer with local banks.
Mrs. Baker retired in 1992 from the food service division of the School Board of Pinellas County.
They have three sons, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The Anthony Telesca Foundation and Knology recently presented School Resource Officer John Cavaliere of Countryside High in Clearwater with $1,000 for use with Students Against Destructive Decisions. This award was based on a competition between Countryside, East Lake and Clearwater high schools to encourage students to view a teenager safe driving website and complete a safe driving questionnaire.
The Anthony Telesca Foundation is a nonprofit that works with public safety and law enforcement officials, high school districts and community business leaders to encourage teenagers to drive safely.

Paul Wahnish, founder and president of Career Technical Education Foundation Inc., and founding chairman of the Academy of Engineering at East Lake High School, has been nominated by Kelly Engineering Resources to receive a Tampa Bay Technology Forum Industry Achievement Award.
The Career Technical Education Foundation also has been recognized as an awards finalist for an organization making a significant impact on the advancement of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) educational programs in the region.
The Career Technical Education Foundation will be honored for Community Supporter of the Year; Wahnish will be honored for Outstanding Leadership.
The recognition will come in November at the seventh annual Industry Achievement Awards presented by Tampa Bay Technology at a black-tie gala at Tampa's A La Carte Pavilion. It will be attended by more than 500 business and technology leaders.
Wahnish is director and master instructor with Project Lead The Way, co-chair for Florida's STEM organization: FCR-STEM (The Florida Center for Research in Science Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), devoted to improving Florida education in STEM fields, and also serves as a board member for the Florida Banner Center for Energy, Florida Banner Center for Manufacturing, the Science Center of Pinellas County, and Tampa Bay Partnership.
Tampa Bay Technology Forum Industry Achievement Awards were created to honor the region's best organizations and individuals in technology. Finalists were selected by a panel of judges from a record number of nominations this year.
