PORT RICHEY — A man was arrested early Wednesday after authorities say he showed up at his ex-girlfriend's house and brawled with her new boyfriend.

Giuseppe Mormone, 44, went to the Bahama Avenue home about 3 a.m. and started yelling, banging on the windows and beating on the door, according to a Pasco County Sheriff's Office report. He left, then returned an hour later. The woman called over her new boyfriend, who told Mormone to leave, as deputies were on their way.

Mormone charged at the man, hitting and stabbing him numerous times in the back, arms and neck with an unknown object, the sheriff's report said. Mormone also threatened the man with a bat but did not hit him with it, the report said.

The man "sustained many puncture wounds and cuts," the report said. His condition was not available Thursday.

Deputies found Mormone shortly after the attack, sitting in his car in front of his mobile home at 7236 Allyson St., the report said. He was arrested on charges of aggravated battery and resisting arrest without violence, and was also charged with criminal mischief for allegedly knocking his ex-girlfriend's door off the hinges on Oct. 2. Court records show he is also awaiting trial on a domestic battery charge from June.

He remains at the Land O'Lakes jail in lieu of $10,150 bail.
