Get info on plan to redevelop public housing
As part of Hernando County's plans to apply for a Choice Neighborhoods Initiative Planning Grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the county will make a presentation about the grant during the meeting of the Brooksville Housing Authority at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the council chambers. The county intends to focus on redeveloping Brooks Villas, Hillside Estates, Summit Villa Apartments and adjacent neighborhoods. Residents of those public housing complexes and the adjacent neighborhoods are encouraged to attend this meeting.
Hospice seeks help with patient visits
HPH Hospice needs volunteers. A two-day orientation and training program will be provided from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday at the office at 698 S Broad St. Lunch will be provided both days. Volunteer opportunities are available throughout the county, but there is a special need for those who will visit with patients. Opportunities are available on weekdays, weeknights and weekends.
