TAMPA — An 83-year-old pedestrian died after being hit by two cars early Saturday morning, police said.
It happened at 7 a.m. at W Hillsborough Avenue and N Church Avenue.
Luis Salgado, of 400 E Harrison St., was crossing Hillsborough Avenue when he was hit by a westbound Nissan Sentra, according to a police report. Salgado was then struck by the car behind the Nissan, a Chevrolet Cavalier.
Salgado died at the scene.
Neither the Sentra driver, 52-year-old Marjorie Ellison, nor the Cavalier driver, 49-year-old Margaret Hickey, was injured.
Traffic on westbound Hillsborough Avenue was temporarily rerouted but there were no major backups.
