Pasco County operates seven congregate dining centers for adults ages 60 and older, funded in part by the Older Americans Act. There is no charge for the meals, but donations are encouraged. The county also delivers meals to homes of the elderly through two programs: The Elderly Nutrition Program, also funded in part by the Older Americans Act, delivers meals at no charge, but donations are encouraged; and the Meals on Wheels program requires a registration fee and a $6 fee per meal. Monday: Pork riblet with brown gravy, whipped sweet potatoes, garden peas, white bread with margarine, cranberry orange relish and low-fat milk.
Tuesday: Frankfurter with mustard, baked beans, carrot cuts, hot dog bun, pineapple chunks and low-fat milk.
Wednesday: Beef and macaroni, green beans, yellow corn with diced red peppers, Italian bread with margarine, mixed fruit and low-fat milk.
Thursday: Minestrone soup, grilled chicken breast coq au vin, herb mashed potatoes, Harvard beets, whole grain wheat bread with margarine, chocolate chip cookie and low-fat milk.
Friday: Beef stew with vegetables in gravy, parsley white rice, brussels sprouts, French bread, cake and ice cream (pudding for home delivery) and low-fat milk.
