TARPON SPRINGS — Police arrested a Holiday man Thursday in connection with a string of burglaries and attempted burglaries over the past several months in one neighborhood.
Joshua Anthony Insprucker, 23, faces charges of burglary and grand theft. He was being held in the Pinellas County Jail in lieu of $15,000 bail.
Police identified Insprucker during an investigation into several break-ins at the Becket Bay Townhomes in the 1500 block of Hillview Lane. Police interviewed Insprucker and noticed that some of his belongings matched the description of some items reported missing, police said.
Police said Insprucker admitted one of the burglaries, but turned over property that police later linked to three separate burglaries in Tarpon Springs. The stolen items include televisions, a computer, game consoles and Greek currency.
Police said Insprucker also admitted other burglaries in Pasco County.
He said he picked the 1500 block of Hillview Lane because he used to live there and was familiar with the layout of the homes and the homeowners' habits, according to police. Insprucker said he would look for an open window, cut the screen and enter the house while the homeowners were sleeping, police said.
Police say their investigation is continuing and ask anyone with information about related cases to call the detective division at (727) 938-2849.
