A cyclist’s rain slicker whips in the wind Monday morning on Fourth Street N, north of downtown St. Petersburg.
Heavy rains that soaked the Tampa Bay area this weekend are expected to continue through Tuesday.
A flood warning for the Alafia River near Lithia in Hillsborough County went into effect Sunday night, according to the National Weather Service.
Meteorologists said there was a good chance of street and localized flooding throughout the day.
Temperatures are expected to be in the upper 80s and lower 90s, according to Bay News 9 meteorologist Juli Marquez.
Parts of eastern Hillsborough saw as much as 6 inches of rain Sunday. Brandon had 4.36 inches, Marquez said. Plant City had the next-highest total with 2.58 inches, she said.
Tampa received 1.27 inches, and St. Petersburg had 0.81.
