ABC Medical, Oxygen & Scrubs has expanded and moved into a new and larger retail store at 15119 U.S. 19, Hudson.

In addition to offering on-site vehicle lift repairs and installations, medical supplies, mobility products, and a sleep apnea room, ABC Medical will now carry uniforms, scrubs, lab jackets, shoes and nursing supplies.

Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point was recently awarded a three year term of accreditation in nuclear medicine services from the American College of Radiology.

The ACR awards accreditation to facilities for the achievement of high practice standards after a peer-review evaluation of its practice. The evaluations are conducted by board certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field.

The nuclear medicine department of Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point met testing quality and image quality standards 100 percent on its application on its first attempt at accreditation.

In addition, Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point has received Chest Pain Center accreditation from the Society of Chest Pain Centers, an international organization dedicated to eliminating heart disease as the number one cause of death worldwide. The center received SCPC's highest level of accreditation.

Looking forward to the holiday season, the West Pasco Chamber of Commerce invites chamber members to begin their Christmas Card Lane displays.

The annual display around Orange Lake provides chamber businesses with an opportunity to promote their business while taking part in one of the community's favorite exhibits.

The Christmas Card Lane is a focal point during downtown's Holiday Festival & Parade. The cards go up in early December and remain around the lake until after the new year.

Cards are available for $100 each. All are individually lighted and each includes a sponsor nameplate.

Home Instead Senior Care, 7716 Massachusetts Ave., New Port Richey, is organizing its third-annual "Be a Santa to a Senior" program to bring holiday cheer to isolated seniors in west Pasco.

Local nonprofits will identify needy, orphaned and isolated seniors and provide those names to Home Instead Senior Care.

Home Instead Senior Care will place Christmas wreaths and trees in local businesses beginning this week. They will feature ornaments with the first names of the seniors and their respective gift requests.

Customers can pick an ornament, buy items on the list, and then return them unwrapped to the store, with the senior ornament attached. Home Instead volunteers will collect, wrap and distribute the gifts to the seniors.

The program is open to area businesses. For a complete list of participating businesses or for information on sponsoring a tree or wreath at your business, call the Home Instead office at (727) 845-5819.

Who's news

Dr. N. Scott Howell, a doctor of osteopathy with Access Health Care, recently gave three lectures and was on two expert panel discussions at the American College of Phlebology's Annual Congress in Orlando.

Dr. Howell also served as moderator for the symposia entitled, "Contemporary Aesthetics." It was the fifth year he was invited back to speak. He continues to serve on the professional educational committee for the college where he has been a member for six years.

The West Pasco Chamber of Commerce announces that Linda Hawkins, Bonnie Howard, Sean Kline and Ginny Pierce want the bragging rights to Governor of West Pasco. The title comes with no pay, just bragging rights.

For a dollar a vote, chamber members can vote for their favorite. The new governor will be named at the Business Development Week Chamber Awards Banquet on Feb. 17, 2011. The deadline to vote is Feb. 4, 2011.

All proceeds will benefit the winner's favorite charity and the West Pasco Chamber of Commerce.

Linda Hawkins of H&R Block is raising funds for Healthy Start Coalition of Pasco County. Bonnie Howard of Minuteman Press is raising funds for SPCA Suncoast. Sean Kline of the Center for Independence/New Freedom Transportation is raising funds for the Center for Independence. Ginny Pierce of ABCO Graphics & Printing is raising funds for PACE Center for Girls.

Mike Kouremetis, a SCORE counselor, will present the seminar. The two-hour seminar, sponsored by the Land O'Lakes Branch Library, is designed for those with previous experience using QuickBooks, but who would benefit from utilizing the many more advanced capabilities of the system.

Kouremetis will cover entering bills payable, printing checks, keeping payroll records, estimate invoicing and using the class breakdown.
