Man accused of Burglary of several homes
A bold thief accused of breaking into occupied homes while his victims slept was caught Friday, according to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office. John Clifton King, a 34-year-old felon who's served three stints in prison for burglary, auto theft and writing worthless checks, is accused of breaking into at least seven homes in Port Richey and New Port Richey since Oct. 30. King targeted homes that were occupied and broke in through garage doors, authorities said. He usually struck between 4 and 7 a.m. and stole wallets, cell phones and cars if he could find the car keys, according to the Sheriff's Office. King faces several charges of burglary of an occupied residence, plus grand theft auto and possession of a controlled substance. He's being held at the Pasco County jail.

Volkswagens will swarm Bug Jam
The 22nd annual Pasco Bug Jam will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Pasco County Fairgrounds on State Road 52. More than 500 Volkswagens are entered in the show, the second largest in the United States, along with related parts and collectibles. There also will be food, children's games and contests, including an attempt at 3 p.m. to set a new Guinness world record for the number of people stuffed into a VW. Admission is $5 for adults, plus a can of food. Children ages 10 and younger will be admitted for a can of food. Parking is $2. For information, visit pascobugjam.com or call (352) 567-6678. All proceeds benefit All Children's Hospital and other charities, including Suncoast Harvest Food Bank. More than 7,000 people attended last year's Bug Jam. In the past 20 years, the Bug Jam has collected more than 21/2 tons of food for the food bank and raised nearly $200,000 for All Children's Hospital.

Eat at IHOP, donate to the Lions Club
The Hudson IHOP, at U.S. 19 and Beacon Woods Drive, is partnering with the Hudson/Bayonet Point Lions Club to raise funds for the Lions. On Nov. 17, IHOP will donate a portion of a meal's cost to the Lions Club for any meals purchased between 4 and 10 p.m. IHOP customers must leave their receipt with IHOP as verification. Lions Club is an international service organization committed to sight conservation and aid to the blind and visually impaired. All of the proceeds will go to support the various programs of the Hudson/Bayonet Point Lions Club.
