Foreclosure workshop has new location

Due to high demand, the location has changed for Tuesday's "Save Your Home" foreclosure-prevention workshop. It will be from 7 to 9 p.m. at Brooksville Elks Lodge, 14494 Cortez Blvd., west of Brooksville. The free workshop, sponsored by the Neighborhood Community Foundation, is designed to teach homeowners about new legal strategies and potential solutions for defending against foreclosure eviction. The purpose is to allow homeowners to receive information about their loans from objective and qualified third-party sources. The keynote speaker/presenter will be Florida foreclosure defense attorney David C. Hicks. Advance reservations are requested. Call toll-free 1-877-306-5299.

Historical museum meeting is Dec. 6

The Hernando Historical Museum Association's annual Christmas board meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 6 at John's Corner Family Restaurant, 711 S Broad St. The public is welcome. For information, call Ron Daniels at (352) 678-9889.

Chorus' Christmas concert is Sunday

Memorial garden donations needed

Retired Firefighters of New York City Spring Hill Chapter 343 needs donations for the memorial garden at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10209, 14736 Edward R. Noll Drive. The memorial has a piece of steel from the World Trade Center towers, a tile from the roof of the Pentagon, a canister of soil from the Shanksville, Pa., crash site and paving bricks engraved with the names of the victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. About 600 more bricks are needed to complete the project. Donations of any amount are welcome; an engraved brick costs $50. KofC show will appraise antiques

St. Frances Cabrini Knights of Columbus Council 13209 will host its annual Fall Antique Appraisal Show from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Dec. 4 in Xavier Hall, 5030 Mariner Blvd. The event will be fashioned after the Antique Roadshow television program. It will include a certified personal property appraiser, Dale Smrekar, who specializes in collectibles, fine art, jewelry, coins and paper money, oil paintings, sports memorabilia, antique guns, antique swords and knives, vintage toys and other items.
