Former Tampa Mayor Dick Greco apparently will launch his campaign to return to office this evening. Greco's endearing personality makes him likable in everyday conversations, but I'm not convinced he can marshal enough support to win this time.
For now, I would give a slight edge to Rose Ferlita and Bob Buckhorn, but it's not too late for another candidate to emerge. Just like Rick Scott traded upon his business experience to become governor, someone could do the same in a bid for mayor. ...

Kudos to Reginald Lawyer, a Tallahassee Police Department sergeant who helped rescue four children from a burning townhome last week. Lawyer and Officer Jesse Goram engineered the heroics, reuniting the children, ages 3-10, with their mother.
The story got plenty of media attention in the capital, but with Lawyer being one of my closest childhood friends, I thought it deserved an added mention.
