Two different arguments over guns landed three men in jail early Monday, authorities said.

In the first incident, a 34-year-old Palm Harbor man is accused of cutting his parents with a kitchen knife during an argument over a pistol.

Bryan D. Lombardozzi, of the 2200 block of Serenity Lane, was charged with two counts of aggravated battery. He is being held without bail in the Pinellas County Jail.

According to arrest reports, Lombardozzi and his father were arguing about 12:30 a.m. because the father refused to give Lombardozzi his .45-caliber Sig Sauer pistol. Lombardozzi then cut his father three times on the left arm with the 6-inch knife, reports said.

When Lombardozzi's mother tried to intervene, he stabbed her in the left arm and slapped her, according to the reports.

Lombardozzi's parents, who were not named in reports, suffered minor injuries and did not need to be hospitalized.

In the second case, a father and son from Dunedin were arrested after a fight about 3:30 a.m. at their home in the 1400 block of Heather Drive.

According to arrest reports, Edward R. Heilman, 54, took and hid a gun he found in the bedroom of his son, who is a convicted felon forbidden from having firearms.

The son, 27-year-old Edward R. Heilman Jr., threatened to shoot his father if he did not return the gun, reports show.

Heilman refused to hand over the weapon and, at some point during the argument, pointed the gun at his son and threatened to shoot him, reports said.

The son then got a .22-caliber handgun and held it to his father's head, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, which investigated the incident.

At some point during the altercation, the senior Heilman and his wife also began arguing over one of the weapons, deputies said. Heilman pointed a .38 caliber handgun at her and shot off three rounds, one near her head, reports said. The wife, who was not named in reports, was not hit.

After the incident, Heilman said he did not intend to shoot his wife but meant to show her the gun was loaded, according to one of the reports.

Heilman was charged with two counts of aggravated assault. Heilman Jr. was charged with aggravated assault, being a felon in possession of a firearm and violation of probation stemming from a previous conviction of possession of a controlled substance.

All three men were being held without bail in the county jail Monday afternoon.
