Driver, 93, dies from injuries in U.S. 19 crash
A 93-year-old New Port Richey woman was killed Tuesday in an early morning collision on U.S. 19, police said. Eleanor King was eastbound on Shamrock Drive in a 1998 Toyota Corolla when she drove into the path of a 2004 Kia Sorrento at about 8 a.m., New Port Richey police reported. The other driver, Dianne Harris, 52, was southbound on U.S. 19 and struck the Toyota on its side, police said. King was taken to Bayfront Medical Center, where she died, police said. Harris, of Hazelhurst, Miss., suffered a minor injury, police said. No charges were filed, police said.

Cats available to adopt on Monday
Cats and kittens who need a new home will be available from 9 a.m. to noon Monday at CARES Rao Musunuru, M.D. Enrichment Center, 12417 Clock Tower Parkway. The nonprofit Tampa Bay Cat Alliance helps place homeless or unwanted cats. Some need new homes due to their owner's job loss or foreclosure, or because their owner has moved to a nursing home or passed away. Film explores dangers in foods
InGreedients, a film that reveals the hidden dangers in many foods that people regularly eat, will be shown at 7:30 p.m. Thursday outside the West Pasco Habitat for Humanity's Community Center for Learning, 4131 Madison St. The film explores the alarming effects that some foods can pose to people's health, and questions the Food and Drug Administration's role in food inspection. Motorcycle club to host yard sale
The Christian Motorcyclist Association of East Pasco will host its annual yard sale and bake sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at 37314 Mandarin Ave. in Fort King Acres, located behind Spanish Trail West, off Fort King Road. Proceeds will benefit the Jesus Film Project, Open Doors, Missionary Ventures International and the Christian Motorcyclist Association to be used within the United States to share the Gospel with other motorcyclists.
