WEEKI WACHEE

League to host fall harvest of Art at park

The Spring Hill Art League's 37th annual Fall Harvest of Art will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at Weeki Wachee Springs State Park, 6131 Commercial Way. The event includes a juried art show, a jazz and music festival, food vendors and children's activities. Admission, which includes the festival and all park amenities, has been reduced to $5 for adults, $3 for ages 6-12 and free for children 5 and younger. SPRING HILL

Jewelry, minerals, gems on display

The Withlacoochee Rockhounds' 36th annual Gem, Mineral and Jewelry Show continues from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and Sunday at the SNPJ Hall/Suncoast Dance Party Center, 13383 County Line Road. The event features numerous vendors with minerals, gemstones, fossils, handcrafted jewelry and lapidary equipment (Photos on Page 3). There will be demonstrations, plus displays of a replica of Aaron's Breastplate and famous diamonds of the world. Admission is $3 for adults, $1 for ages 13 to 19, and free for ages 12 and younger. Parking is free.

Museum offers candlelight tour

The annual Christmas Candlelight Tour of the Hernando Heritage Museum will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Dec. 11. The museum is at 601 Museum Court. The museum is housed in the 1854 May-Stringer house, a Victorian home that will be decorated with a lighted tree, ornaments and numerous candles. There will be carolers, and punch will be served.
