Toddler found At bottom of In-ground pool
A 23-month-old boy was found at the bottom of an in-ground pool Friday afternoon in northwest Pasco County. Preliminary information indicates that the child's grandmother was watching a number of children at 15631 Little Ranch Road when she fell asleep, said Kevin Doll, spokesman for the Pasco Sheriff's Office. A 3-year-old girl woke the grandmother to tell her that the boy had fallen in the pool. She was unable to find the child and called the child's father on the phone. He came home, jumped in the pool and found the child, Doll said. The child was alive when transported by helicopter to a hospital shortly after 3 p.m. He may have been in the pool for up to five minutes, Doll said.

Property appraiser to hold talk Monday
Property Appraiser Mike Wells will address the Spirit of '76 Republican Club on Monday at Brew City, 5411 U.S. 19 (in the Kmart plaza). Social hour starts at 6 p.m., followed by the meeting at 7 p.m. Wells will give a detailed report on how property taxes are related to the home's appraised value, and how some Pasco County residents can obtain a reduction in their property taxes. Clown academy taking applicants
Interested in becoming a clown and bringing laughter into the hearts of others? The Clown Krewe, a local group of clowns who entertain within the community, is accepting registrations for its seven-week Clown Academy. The program is $100 and is open to anyone 18 or older. Classes will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Mondays. Class size is limited and the registration deadline is Dec. 19.
