Pasco County operates eight congregate dining centers for adults ages 60 and older, funded in part by the Older Americans Act. There is no charge for the meals, but donations are encouraged. The county also delivers meals to homes of the elderly through two programs: The Elderly Nutrition Program, also funded in part by the Older Americans Act, delivers meals at no charge, but donations are encouraged. The Meals on Wheels program requires a registration fee and a $6 fee per meal. Monday: Baked meatloaf with mushroom gravy, mashed potatoes, baby Brussels sprouts, whole grain wheat bread with margarine, pineapple chunks and low-fat milk.
Tuesday: Chicken Florentine, penne pasta with garlic oil, Tuscan blend vegetables, tossed salad with Italian dressing, whole wheat bread with margarine, fresh orange and low-fat milk.
Wednesday: Sweet and sour pork, wild rice medley, vegetables, whole grain wheat bread with margarine, peaches and low-fat milk.
Thursday: Hamburger patty with ketchup and mustard, baked beans, yellow corn with diced tomatoes, hamburger bun, fresh fruit and low-fat milk.
Friday: French onion soup, barbecue chicken leg quarter, cheesy mashed potatoes, broccoli, whole grain wheat bread with margarine, oatmeal raisin cookie and low-fat milk.
