PALM HARBOR — One man was killed and another critically injured in two separate crashes Saturday night and early Sunday in Pinellas County, authorities said.

The first wreck happened about 11:30 p.m. Saturday on Belcher Road at Grovewood Boulevard in Palm Harbor.

Kevin William Ott, 51, of Silver Springs veered left on his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, hit a raised median and was thrown from the bike, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

He was flown to Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg, where he was pronounced dead.

A woman who was riding her motorcycle with Ott — Nancy A. Wilson, 62, of New Port Richey — was charged with DUI. She was not involved in the accident, the patrol said.

The second crash happened about 2:15 a.m. on U.S. 19 at Ulmerton Road.

The patrol said driver Jesse Finkel, 23, of Clearwater was southbound on U.S. 19 when he tried to avoid debris in the road but hit a concrete barrier wall.

His vehicle spun around and overturned.

Finkel was critically injured and was taken to Bayfront Medical Center for treatment, the patrol said.
