20 degrees is Lowest reading since January
The coldest temperatures since January were recorded early Wednesday across Hernando County. A low of 20 was recorded about daybreak at the Hernando County Airport, south of Brooksville. It was the lowest temperature there since Jan. 12, when it was 18 degrees, according to the National Weather Service in Ruskin. A reading of 20 was also recorded between 6 and 8 a.m. Wednesday at the University of Florida weather station near Nobleton, in the northeast part of the county. The National Weather Service lifted the freeze warning for Wednesday night and this morning in Hernando, but subfreezing temperatures are forecast again Monday night and Tuesday morning.
