SPRING HILL — Who knew Santa Claus liked heavy metal Christmas tunes and an electric light show?
This weekend, a can of soup and $3 will buy you admission to "Illuminations," a computerized Christmas spectacle that includes hot chocolate, holiday music and a peek at Mr. Claus himself.
After October's success with "Horror High," students in the Springstead High School Sports, Entertainment, Recreation and Marketing Academy decided to try a Christmas light show with the hope of gathering nonperishable food, making a little money, and providing a good time.
The event, scheduled at the school's softball fields from dusk to 9 p.m., provided students with a hands-on, real-world marketing experience. They strategized, developed a product and dealt with unexpected circumstances like freezing weather conditions during the ...
