PINELLAS PARK — A 28-year-old woman was arrested Monday after police said the 12-month-old girl she was supposed to be caring for ingested the prescription painkiller oxycodone.
The baby was "unresponsive," according to Pinellas Park police. She was taken to Bayfront Medical Center and is expected to recover.
Stacy Lynn Ridgeway, of 6245 76th Ave. N in Pinellas Park, was arrested on a charge of child neglect causing great bodily harm.
The identity of the child and her relationship to Ridgeway were not released by Pinellas Park police, who said only that she has a "custodial relationship" with the child.
According to police, the child was left unsupervised for up to 12 hours until Ridgeway discovered that she had been vomiting and was in a stupor sometime Sunday night or early Monday morning.
