LARGO — A 53-year-old man is accused of molesting a girl under age 12, authorities said.
Gilberto Z. Alamillo, of 11335 123rd Ave., Largo, was arrested Tuesday on one count of capital sexual battery and two counts of lewd and lascivious molestation.
According to a warrant obtained by Largo police, Alamillo molested the girl on two occasions in June 2009. Police began investigating after the girl reported the incidents Saturday, the warrant shows.
When a detective interviewed Alamillo about the girl's statements, he originally said he couldn't remember because he had been drinking but later admitted the actions, according to the warrant.
It's unclear how Alamillo knew the girl, and her age was not immediately available Wednesday. Alamillo was being held without bail in the Pinellas County Jail.
