Another cold stretch began early Wednesday as temperatures dropped into the 30s and 40s across Tampa Bay.
Temperatures are only expected to peak in the mid-50s Wednesday before dropping down into the 20s and 30s overnight. A freeze warning is in place for the region.
"We are expecting a freeze tonight into Thursday morning," said Bay News 9 meteorologist Juli Marquez, advising residents to cover plants, keep animals inside and bundle for the cold weather.
Thursday will see highs again in the 50s and overnight temperatures in the 20s and 30s throughout parts of the Tampa Bay area.
A warm-up is expected to come on Saturday, which should see lows in the 40s and highs in the upper 60s.
