ST. PETERSBURG — The driver of a 2005 Toyota died Sunday evening after veering off the road and crashing into a light pole near the intersection of Interstate 275 and Roosevelt Boulevard.
At about 6:25 p.m., the driver of the car struck a guardrail, swept across four lanes of northbound traffic on I-275, went off the road and struck the pole, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The identity of the driver has not been released, pending family notification.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
