Chamber tries a new name, new strategy
As part of its three-year strategic plan, the Largo/Mid-Pinellas Chamber of Commerce has changed its name to Central Pinellas Chamber of Commerce. The group announced the switch at its 59th annual meeting held Sept. 22 at the Sheraton Sand Key Resort.
During the program, the chamber's annual awards were also announced including the following: Citizen of the Year, John Goodman, chief executive officer of the Goodman Group (owners of the Palms of Largo); Mac Norcross Small Business Leader of the Year, Jim England, England Brothers Construction; Business Member of the Year, Largo Medical Center; Silver Hammer Award, city of Largo for the new Largo Community Center; President's Award, Melody Hunter, Realtor, for overseeing the Chamber Leads Network program; Membership Award, Jim Brangenberg, Platinum Information Services Inc. for new membership recruitment; Committee Chairman's Award, Laverne ...
