BRADENTON — Authorities are looking for a 7-year-old Bradenton boy they believe was in danger after disappearing with his mother last Saturday.

Angel Perez was last seen going to a softball game with his mother, Maria Apicella, 45, near the 2000 block of 20th Street Court W, according to Bradenton police Lt. John Affolter. He was wearing a white-and-yellow baseball jersey, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

Perez's father reported the boy missing about 9 p.m. Tuesday night after Apicella contacted him.

"She made some statements that give us grave concern for the child's welfare," Affolter said. He said he couldn't elaborate on what those comments were.

Perez was described as white/Hispanic, 4 feet tall, 50 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

His mother was described as white/Hispanic, 5 feet 4 inches, 140 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Bradenton Police Department at (941) 932-9300 or by calling 911.
