Pinellas County school superintendent Julie Janssen is used to being in the hot seat.

But on Sept. 11, she has volunteered to trade her hot seat for a wet one.

Everyone's invited to the inaugural Box Car Rally Fundraiser for Teachers in Clearwater from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., when the school district's highest paid employee will take to the dunking booth to raise money for classroom grants for children.

Three balls for a dollar gives you three chances to soak the super.

"How could I turn down an opportunity to help our teachers?" Janssen said.

Besides Janssen's plunge, there will be box car racing, food, drinks, balloons, music, children events, the Rays Street Team, local merchant tables and tents, and more.

All proceeds from the day's events will go toward grants distributed to teachers through the Pinellas Education Foundation.

See you there: 300 Cleveland St. in Clearwater. That's a week from Saturday.
