NEW PORT RICHEY — A man slashed his father with a knife early Monday during an argument over who would walk their dog, Pasco deputies said.
Jeffrey Owen, 33, and his father, David Owen, told authorities they had a few drinks and were playing a game of darts before the argument at their apartment on Cognac Drive. The report did not describe the extent of the injury, but it did say that David Owen told deputies his son "got extremely upset," picked up a knife and cut him about 2 a.m.
Jeffrey Owen remained in the Land O'Lakes jail Monday on a charge of aggravated battery. Deputies said he admitted to the crime.
"I don't know why, but I cut him," he said, according to an arrest report. "Am I going to go to jail?"
