ST. PETERSBURG – Police responded to a residence early Monday after a relative called and said a man was holding his girlfriend and baby hostage.

Police arrived at 4934 3rd Ave. S after 7 a.m. They went to the door and Sean Anthony Jackson, 25, answered. The door stayed closed, but he said he "had an AR-15 cocked and ready to go," police said.

Jackson told police he didn't care if he died. He was pushing papers under the door, acting aggressive and irrational, police said.

As police geared up for a tactical unit to respond, Jackson's girlfriend dove out a window with her baby. A short while later, Jackson also dove out the same window. He was nude and unarmed, police said.

Jackson was taken to St. Anthony's hospital where he refused treatment. He was then taken to Pinellas County Jail and charged with false imprisonment of a child, false imprisonment and felony battery.

The girlfriend told police he slapped her three times and threatened to kill her. She was uninjured, police said, and didn't want to press charges.
