DADE CITY — A convenience store clerk was arrested on charges of selling marijuana — from right behind the counter of the BP gas station where he worked, according to arrest reports.

Loay "Louis" Al-Wawi, 25, sold undercover buyers an ounce of marijuana on two evenings in July, deputies said. Al-Wawi met with the buyers at the cash register and weighed the $120 in marijuana in front of them on a digital scale, the report said.

Pasco deputies arrested him Tuesday afternoon at the Dade City station, on U.S. 301 near Christian Road. Al-Wawi had a plastic baggy of marijuana, a glass pipe and a roller in his pockets, deputies said.

Al-Wawi, of Bushnell, was charged with three counts apiece of possession and sale of marijuana. He was released Wednesday from the Land O'Lakes jail on $30,300 bail.
