CLEARWATER — A 63-year-old man was arrested Thursday night, accused by police of running an escort service and selling cocaine from his apartment.

Police say they received numerous complaints about activity at the home of Larry E. Schwartz, of 2765 Via Cipriani, Apt. 1235 A in Clearwater.

Undercover detectives conducted several transactions with Schwartz to solicit prostitutes and buy cocaine, according to authorities. They issued a search warrant at his home and he was later taken into custody.

Police seized $59,286 in cash, 40 grams of cocaine, 6.3 grams of oxycodone and 43 grams of marijuana inside the home. Schwartz was charged with three counts of deriving proceeds from prostitution, two counts of trafficking in cocaine, sale and possession of cocaine, trafficking in oxycodone and felony possession of marijuana.

He remained in custody at the Pinellas County Jail Friday.
