BROOKSVILLE -- Northbound lanes of the Suncoast Parkway are closed in a section of Hernando County after a truck carrying liquid oxygen overturned, according to fire rescue officials.
The truck blew a tire and flipped over around 10:30 a.m., according to Assistant Chief Frank DeFrancesco of the Hernando County Fire Rescue. No one was injured in the single-vehicle accident, he said.
Northbound traffic is being rerouted at Spring Hill Drive onto California Street and back onto the parkway at the State Road 50 entrance, he said.
Fire rescue officials are venting the liquid oxygen while they wait for equipment to upright the truck, a process that could take an hour or more, he said.
